UFC 84: Ill Will

Well, a friend of mine, Will, and I have exchanged a few e-mails regarding tomorrow night's UFC. If you don't know this yet, I am a HUGE fan of the UFC and MMA in general. so I thought I would take a moment to offer up some predictions from Will and myself.

First, Here is Will's take

BJ Penn vs Sean Sherk:
BJ...he's got a strong ground game and has knockout power. He's powerful anywhere and is incredibly hard to take down. His only weakness is his conditioning...if it goes to the 4th or 5th round, he wont last.

Keith Jardine vs Wanderlei Silva:
Silva, for sure. I think Jardine will try his leg kicks like he did against Liddell, but Silva is just a huge beast...he's good on the ground and is quick.

Tito Ortiz vs Lyoto Machida:
I want Machida to win, but Ortiz is so unpredictable. If Ortiz gets momentum, he'll be hard to stop. I'm not too familiar with Machida, but I sure hope he wins and takes out Ortiz.

And now my predictions.

BJ Penn vs Sean Sherk:
Penn in 2. Sherk does not have the stuff anymore, although if it goes beyond 3 Sherk could walk with the decision.

Keith Jardine vs Wanderlei Silva:
Jardine and Silva is the match to watch. I will say that Silva's career in the UFC/Pride is riding on this fight. With 3 straight losses, this could be his last shot with a big promotion. Jardine is coming off a big win against Liddell, A win here could make him the #1 contender to face the winner of Rampage/Griffin (Jardine/Griffin rematch?) Going to be the fight of the night, but I say Jardine early second round by KO or a decision.

Tito Ortiz vs Lyoto Machida:
Ortiz is coming out to show Dana White that he still has a place in the UFC, he is mad and insulted by Dana's comments about Tito going soft and wanting to be a movie star. It will be a 1st round TKO by Strikes. Machida is not going to be a match for Tito and he can blame Dana White for getting him sacrificed.
